About activation

I would recommend you to go through the TC8 Licensing Guide that can be found in the Documentation group under TC8 Programs menu shortcut.



In general, you must have License Manager (available as a separate installer from the Customer Portal) installed on some machine that has an access to the internet and is accessible from the virtual machine. When TestExecute starts activation procedure it should be able to find License Manager (otherwise see the mentioned guide for the recommendations on what can be done to make License Manager discoverable) and pass it activation data. Then License Manager will communicate with AQA's site to complete the activation sequence.

In the worst case you may choose to use the manual activation (again, described in the Licensing Guide), but for TestExecute to be able to function the given virtual machine must access the License Manager when TestExecute starts.

To run TestExecute on a virtual machine, you need to do the following:

1. Install the License Manager utility on a physical computer.

2. Activate the TestExecute license there.

3. Install TestExecute on a virtual machine.





I recommend that you read the "Activation Steps" article for details. If you have some licensing problem when running TestExecute, refer to the "License Check Problems" article. It contains some tips that should help you.

I don't understand.

Can you explain me how to do it step by step?

Because I installed TestExecute on host-machine, i registed it. After that i install TestExecute on virtual machine and when i try to start TestExecute it show window like "you can not registrate TestExecute on virtual machine". How to be?



p.s. and it also wrote that i must to start TestExecute as workstation (I don't understand how to do it).

I have read about it before. But I don't unedrstand how to do it.

How to run tests on virtual machine, if when I try to start TestExecute on virtual machine it says me that I must activate it?

Ok. I have read it "License Check Problems". But it does not help me, because where nothig new that I read before.

Virtual machine can "ping" host-machine, and host-machine has connection to Internet.



So, I ask again, please, explain me how to run TestEsecute on Virtual Machine?
