Chinese Standard Characters

So I know when I uses a groovy step I am able to see the characters that I am passing into a string (within my script)

log.info '简化字'

however when I execute this line the console only shows "boxes".

Again, if I add the string to a property step, I am only able to see "boxes" but I can run valid comparisons on the properties.

Is there any way to get the tool to properly display Chinese characters throughout
