Help required to install ReadyApi on Linux via command line/shell

Hi,

I need to install ready api on a linux system. The problem is I don't see any documentation for ReadyApi or SoapUI pro which refer to installation on Linux via command line.

I don't have the option to run it via X Windows, KDE, Gnome etc. Looking for a way to do the following via command line access via a putty session.

1. Install ReadyApi

2. Use floating license which is already available on a license server.

On this installation, I don't plan to use the Ready API user interface at all. My only objective is to run tests via testrunner.

Please help ASAP.

Thanks & Regards,

Gilu Gopi

Did you look at this page by any chance? This is what you needed,  I believe.

Yes, already looked at that. To add to the complexity, the linux account which need to run my scripts is a local account and hence can't use it to log on to a machine with GUI.

The documentation has given instructions how to use/activate license on headless machine. Did you try ?

I'm unable to do the steps mentioned in the URL. The account under which I want to run projects on Linux machine is a local account used by Jenkins Server. Now this account not available as a network user id to install on another machine with GUI and transfer over the license files to the machine I really need it on.

At this point, the only option I see is to get X Windows installed on Linux machine. I would have been useful if Ready API provides a straight forward way to install floating licenses via command line ( Just like the option it already have in command line to install fixed license)

About to do the same, thanks for providing URL for that and for all attempts to resolve this issue. Appreciate it.

Hi,

Finally I took the pain to configure X11 port forwarding on the headless Linux machine and installed floating license. Configuring the port forwarding for a dummy user was the tricky part, but thanksfully my Linux admin took care of that.

Thanks for all the responses to this thread.
