Active Directory Authentication issue

Trying to use Active Directory Authentication with QAComplete.

Have LDAP connection string, user and password.

Able to connect to LDAP server using JXplorer

When trying to "test login", it doesn't work.

Error:Connect to LDAP:

fail

/***/ Error 7: Invalid Lookup parameters (UserName/Password)

/***/ System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

Not sure what is expected to be filled in

"Password": password for user used to connect to LDAP server or password for tested account?

"AD Account/User lookup value": im using email attribute as query attribute, should i be putting an email address?

I've used same values in QAComplete as the one in JXplorer:

BaseDN -->User base

UserDN -->Lookup user name

Password --> Password

Query attribute --> mail

Any idea what's the issue? Thanks.

  • Hi Philippe -

    I'll give it a shot, but I'm not the Active Directory Expert :)

    If you are looking at the LDAP Active Directory Authentication section,
    this is where you put the user info to connect to the LDAP server.

    If you are looking at the Test LDAP Authentication section, this is
    where you use an actual user login email address and active directory
    password.

    There's some info in the User's Guide that might help: Understanding Active Directory

    And of course, if you still have questions, please let our Support Team know and they'll get you the answer. All you need to do is log into the application, click Help Center at the top right, then click Create Support Ticket.

    Thanks!
