Yes, we can create NameMapping templates to use specific properties in identification, however we can't use these in combination with XPath and CSS locators.
You can test this by turning off XPath/CSS name mapping in Tools > Current Project Properties > Open Applications > Web Testing > General, then creating a Template in the Name Mapping repository per the instructions here : https://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/testing-with/object-identification/name-mapping/templates.html
