I assume that you are testing a web application/web page. This is a known item for IE8 and TestComplete in that, due to certain architectures within IE8, TestComplete developers had to slow down the Keys method in order to ensure that text is properly entered.
To avoid this, as Irina said, replace Keys with SetText.
