Web PopUps

Hi, we have problems for last few days with TC not ignoring overlapping windows, like download files on chrome. We have TC 15.80 version, we tried with newer version 15.85 and problem is still  there. when recording or adding On-Screen Action we also get highlighted whole page insted of desired field. We hadn't have a problem with this since we started web testing with TC (about 5 years now).

Playback settings in TCProblem with popup of downloaded files

When trying to record new action with on screen action

On screen action highlight whole page even thoe it shoul highlight only button where 999 is.

    Hi :)

    First question: Did it ever work before?

    Second question: What is posted to test log when the problem occurs?

    Now my considerations:

    -- It looks like that web page is not recognized by TestComplete (because the whole page is highlighted). Had you checked in Object Browser if the page is recognized and TC has access to all its web elements? If page is not recognized you should check that: a) Web testing support is enabled in TC (File|Install Extensions); b) TC extension is installed and enabled in Chrome; c) Your version of Chrome is supported by TC (see help for this). I would suggest to create Support ticket if all above conditions are met but web page is not recognized by TC;

    -- OnOverlappedWindow event it triggered only when there is an attempt to perform some onscreen action (usually, click on some element) and the action point is overlapped with some non-modal window. (Actual window in terms of Windows OS, not window look and feel emulation implemented by, for example, certain web libraries.) The window is ignored and action must be performed otherwise (with, possibly, triggering OnUnexpectedWindow event).

    My current guess (assuming that click on '999' element is expected) is that there is a problem with web page recognition rather than with overlapping window processing.

    Hope this will help.
