Testing an application which runs under debugger is not a good approach, because the debugger may conflict with TestComplete modules loaded into the tested application's process. As for the Open Applications glyph, it is no longer displayed in the Object Browser since TestComplete 6. I strongly recommend that you see the Open Applications in Visual C++ help topic for more information on peculiarities of C++ Open Applications in TestComplete 8.
