Unable to install TFS MSSCCI Provider for integration with TestComplete

Hello,

I've migrated my laptop from Windows XP to Windows7 and have setup Team Explorer to integrate with my TestComplete 8 installation for source control. When I tried installing TFS 2008 MSSCCI Provider. It's throwing an error of "Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Team Explorer or its tools are not installed or registered. Please install or repair your Team Foundation Client installation".

Has anyone encountered this behavior before?

Thanks and regards -- Paul

  • Hello Mike, our team have found a workaround. Before installation, change the setting of "User Access Control" via msconfig and select "Never Notify". This will force installation of MSSCCI.

    FYI :)

I am getting exactly the same problem with trying to install TFS 2010 MSSCCI Provider with Team Explorer 2012 installed. It tells me that Team Explorer 2010 is not installed. Well, that's because I have Team Explorer 2012 installed. This is most frustrating.
