Trying to connect to a MySQL database

I'm trying out TestComplete and it's become clear that I'll need to run database queries for some tests. I see that the question has been asked before, but all the results show how to write scripts to accomplish this. I'm not a coder at ALL, and it's not clear to me what steps I need to take within TestComplete to connect the program to our database. I have easy access to our programmers here, so once I've figured out how to make the connection I can get information about the database tables, SQL queries, etc. Can someone explain how to get started creating a Database Table Checkpoint?
