Testing RadGridView for newest Item

Anyone have any ideas to offer?

In TestComplete 8.5, Telerik RadGridView is supported as a supported class.



What version of TC are you currently running?

I'm running 8.2.



Will my company incur extra charges if I update to latest 8.5?

That I cannot answer for sure as I'm not a SmartBear employee.

I'll contact support for both issues.

After working with tech-support for months with 8.1, they created a patch to work with our specific Telerik package. That patch was rolled into 8.2.

If for some reason I didn't use the table checkpoint, is there a way to assert the newest item (and its multiple values) in a grid view?

Please clarify your task - it's not clear what you are trying to accomplish, and what difficulties you are experiencing.

Here's a screenshot with the problem.

Hopefully this will explain better than my other descriptions.

Also, as new Grid Items appear in this view, I must go to the newest one and assert all values.

Having limited experience with the control in question, any advice I'd give would depend a lot on what's going on with the control



For this particular grid, there's a content table child object.  That table has a "RowCount" property that will return the number of rows.  It also has a "ColumnCount" property for the number of columns.  With that information, you can set up a pair of nested "for" loops that would loop through the rows and columns using the Cell property of the content table and verify the contents based upon some data file or data array of expected values.



The following is PseudoCode only and has not been tested in a real world situation so YMMV.
