TestComplete Linking Projects

Hi,

When I create a project suite with more than one Project inside of it, if I want to then create a duplicate copy of this Project Suite in a different directory using the Save Project Suite As any changes that are made to one of the Project Suites is then made to theh other.

However....... If I only have one Project inside the Project Suite, follow the same Save Project Suite As process like above. Any changes made do not link across to the other. Also I can see the when the Project Suites seem to be linked, the icon for the project in the Project explorer appears to be different (Blue square with white arrow).

My reason for doing this is so I can have a completed working Project Suite and create a backup so if I make changes and stuff the Project up I can just reload the previous one.

So overall my question is why does it not link the 2 Project Suites together when there is only 1 Projecet inside it. But when there are 2 Projects inside the Project Suite any changes maded seem to be linked between them.

I prefer the non linking way.

You'd better use some SCC to keep your project. In this case, there is no need to constantly copy/paste project - that's very inconvenient. TestComplete supports integration with many paid SCC tools as well as the free tools, like Subversion. Refer to the "Integration With Subversion" article for details.
