TestComplete Books

This is just a bit of info on one the books refered to in another post...

I have looked at The TestComplete Cookbook and it is structured well for learning and reference. It is written for version 9 and above.  The book uses Jscript for the examples (correct me if I am wrong).  Each section consists of 3 parts sometimes 4...

  1. Getting Ready
  2. How to do it...
  3. How it works...
  4. There's more...

If you want any other specifics about the book let me know.  I hope this helps out someone.

Have a great day all!

    Hi Scot,

    Thanks for sharing this information.

Do you know that the author of this book - Gennadiy Alpaev - is our valuable Community Expert - karkadil?

      Hi guys :)

Unfortunately, I am not following TestComplete forums last years as my working focus has changed a little.

But thanks to TanyaYatskovska I still receive some notifications and can answer your questions if you have them.

TanyaYatskovska, thanks for not forgetting me :)

  • I see the book claims to be useful for both novices and experts.

Would you say that is accurate?

Is more of a novice tutorial book or more of advanced approaches to testing with TestComplete or is it a good balance of both?

How basic is its novice stuff and just how advanced is its most advanced stuff?

I am a novice with TC.  It starts pretty basic.  I am not familiar with the scripting language used.  I am more familier with vbscript so I am trying to learn that and possibly re-create the scripts I see in vbscript.  Check the link below and click the "Read More" link near the bottom of the page ...
