Test Recorder disappears in v8.1?

I am finding that when I click the Record Script button in TC, sometimes the recorder does not appear but recording is still occurring.  Any ideas what causes this to occur?  If I restart TC, usually it will then work correctly.

    Please check whether the problem can be reproduced with the latest version of TestComplete (v. 8.50). If it does, please provide us with detailed steps which can be used to reproduce the problem stably.
