Test Complete/Execute Install on Windows XP
Hi,
I've been trying to install both Test Complete and Test Execute 8.6 recently. All three times I've tried it, it has crashed installing the HASP part (the licensing manager). When I've tried to restart the computer being used, it starts to boot Windows, but never actually gets to the log on. On one machine it was causing a blue screen; on the two others it just cycles through an endless re-booting process, usually restarting the machine as Windows comes back up. The first two times I tried it on my own machine - in both of these cases I had to have Windows completely re-installed to get round the problem. The most recent install is on a "retired" desktop to avoid breaking anything important!
It's possible to log back on in Safe Mode, I think; whether I can un-install the offending packages and try again I'm less sure. Looking through the forums, I've yet to see another user with this issue, which makes me wonder if there's a conflict with something else we have installed here.
Any thoughts/ advice would be most welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Nick Hutchings
