Before you start creating mobile tests, you need to set up TestComplete and your mobile device. This topic explains how to do this.

If you are trying to use TC to test iTunes on your phone, I don't think that will work

The goal is far from testing ITunes… But it is part of preparing TestComplete to test an iOS Application on a Connected device...
Preparing Test Computers and TestComplete for iOS Testing

Hi,
Just to be on the safe side:
-- Did you install *desktop* version of iTunes from Apple site but not from Windows store? (Like it is documented in the article that you've referenced?)
-- According to my understanding of the documentation, only drivers provided by iTunes are required and direct interaction between TestComplete and iTunes application is not assumed for iOS testing. So, is it a real showstopper that TestComplete does not detect iTunes application? Did you completed preparation of both computer with TestComplete and iOS device? Can TestComplete connect to the device and display its screen using the Show Mobile Screen button?
P.S. Check that the filter in the Object Browser (leftmost buttons on its toolbar) is not set to Show Tested Applications Only mode.

Hi Alek.. Thx for the pointer, it did make a difference…
Following the link to Apple store, it first presents the link towards the Microsoft Store to download, but this is a different version… As you stated… So followed the link for the 32bit version, then back to the previous, now the 64bit link was visible to download, which I go and not iTunes is visible and does see the devices properly.
However, the App is a 3rd party SaaS so we cannot instrument the code, which in previous versions of TestComplete was not a requirement if I recall (I mean older than 12.60)… Tried running the app on a "virtual" device but the app can't be installed on it… Probably because it's not a real device…
So I'll have to figure other options… But thanks for the tip, I went a step further...
I'm looking at the possibility of an Android version (which can work with the Agent, but this has to be verified as well)..
Again, the main issue as that the App is 3rd party SaaS, so no access to code what so ever...
So I might have to find a different API or tool or whatever solution I can find...

Hi,
Thank you for the update.
IIRC, instrumentation of tested application was always required for mobiles...
Documentation says that .ipa file can be instrumented. Do you have access to the installation .ipa file? If you don't then I am afraid that you are out of luck...
In order to get official reply or some other piece of advice I would recommend to ask Support directly via the https://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/message/ form.
