Sometimes can't show FireFox 12.0 objects in the TC8 objects tree

Hi,

When the script run test application Firefox, TC8 object tree didn't show all object. If I close the firefox application manualy and run it again manualy the TC object tree show all object corretly.



I compare objects trees:

1) when script run FireFox, there is one window("MozillaDropShadowWindowClass", 1) in the object tree

2) when run FireFox manual there are two window("MozillaDropShadowWindowClass", 1) and window("MozillaDropShadowWindowClass", 2)



I put the sys.referesh and daley after the script run Firefox application, but that didn't help. MAyBe you have any ideas about this problem??

    Hi Armands,


    The behavior you describe is really strange. So, to help us investigate the problem, please make sure that:

    - Firefox that is launched from TestComplete has no additional command-line parameters;

    - the version of Firefox launched from TestComplete and the version of the manually launched instance are the same. For instance, make sure that TestComplete launches Firefox ver. 12.0 and you manually launch the same version, but not 13.0, for instance.

    I always use Firefox 12.0.  at my test machine. The object browser tree type which I use is DOM.

    I think I understand why this is happen. The problem is in the Firefox cache. The Firefox cache save the privious window objects and TC show old object in the objects browser tree

    Hi Armands,


    Please follow the instructions below:

    1. Launch Firefox from TestComplete.

    2. Switch to the Object Browser panel.

    3. Expand the child tree for the Window("MozillaWindowClass", "", 1) object.

    4. Post here the screenshot of the Object Browser panel showing this tree.

    Hi Armands,


    I have a few more questions:

    1. You've mentioned that you use the DOM tree model. Are you sure that the model isn't redefined somewhere in your test?

    2. Also, please follow the instructions below:

    * Launch Firefox from the TestComplete script.

    * Switch to the Object Browser panel.

    * Select the Page("http://...") object.

    * Expand the tree of child objects so we could see all child objects that belong to the Page object.

    * Post here the screenshot of the Object Browser panel showing this tree.

    I am sure that the model didn't redefined :)

    The firefox cache empting didn't help :(

    I get the the same problem again

    I needed the screenshot to ensure the DOM model is used. Thank you for capturing it.


    Actually, I tried to reproduce the behavior you described, but failed. Could you please clarify why it's required to use the Window("MozillaDropShadowWindowClass", 2) object in your test? Does your test fail when you launch FireFox from TestComplete?

    In my test i didn't used the object window("MozillaDropShadowWindowClass", 2). I wrote that i compare to ways off firefox launcing. And only one thing was different which was about window("MozillaDropShadowWindowClass", 2).



    After the script launch the Firefox app, the script must find some objects - aplication fields.(For example login fields). If cann't find whose fields, the script stoped. At once i check the object tree in the TC8 and cann't see the object which i need. At the object tree must be for example 100 objects, but where onlly 80. Then i press refresh, but anyway  did't find them.

    If i run Firefox manuly and check the object tree. I can see all objects

    With the chrome i have the same problems

    Could you please clarify which approach you are using to find these objects?


    At the object tree must be for example 100 objects, but where onlly 80.


    Also, can you post here two screenshots: one screenshot showing all of objects and the second screenshot showing the object tree when you launch FireFox from TestComplete. Or you can capture only one screenshot and highlight the objects that are missing when you launch the browser from your test.
