Selecting between aliases, multiple alias problem in recording

There is an object with multiple aliases. The mapped objects are different in these two aliases. When we record something on that object's descendants, it only picksone alias regardless of which one is it, under which the name is mapped. Why is this happening? Please help.

    It sounds like, while the mapped objects may be different, the criteria being used for the mapping is insufficient to distinguish between the two.   Adding additional criteria to your mapped objects to ensure unique identification is your best bet.
