scripts execution

I add two scripts to the script level, no other items. And I only add one item to this project. But every time I run this test project, it aways run these two scripts together.  How can I just run ...

Please note that any function calls you make at the global level of the scripts will be run when the scripts are loaded.  For example if I have the script units "Unit1" and "Unit2":

 

[Unit1]
function func1() { Log.Message("func1"); }
function func2() { Log.Message("func2"); }

 

[Unit2]
//USEUNIT Unit1
function func3() { Log.Message("func3"); }
func2();
func3();

 and then I attempt to run func1(), func2() and func3() will be run first.  The log looks like this:

    this script is the one that i intend to install

     

    and I use another PublicVBScript.vbs outside TestComplete for calling some useful methods.

    the first script does not contain methods that the second one uses.

    the first one do use the methords in PublicVBScript.vbs, but has nothing to do with the second one.

     

     

    so I'm confused why the second one always run first.

      Same reason as I explained before.  You are probably choosing your desired main function as your project's test item, yes?  And in your other script file you have some global level instructions to call another function.  Whenever you load the script files for execution, the global level instructions are performed.

       

      [Unit1]
      '
      ' This function is the project's test item and is called after the scripts are loaded

  Log.Message "Unit1 main"
end sub

       

      [Unit2]
      '
      ' These instructions are always executed when this script is loaded
      '

  Log.Message "Unit2 main"
end sub

       

      If I set a project level test item to call Unit1's main, and then run the project I get

      Put your global level instructions in their own function.  Something like this:

       

      [Unit 2]

        ...
