Run sequential multi-projects tests towards one remote machine with TestExecute

Hi,

I have created several projects belonging to the same project suite. Each project corresponds to a set of test for one Desktop application.

Those tests are located on a Test Controller machine (Master) where TestComplete is installed.

I have managed to perform a regression test of all my applications (all projects) by right clicking on "Project Suite" then "Run". I made sure that those projects were activated.

Now I would like to reproduce the same regression testing for this project Suite, but towards a remote machine where TestExecute is installed.

There is no "Master" Network Suite for the Project suite I am aware of.

There is only 1 network suite per project that can be created. And it is not possible to create tasks for the same host within the same job. It has to be 1 task with a different host name.

Could you please indicate what procedures to follow to be able to run my whole project suite towards a remote machine?

How can I automate the execution of all my projects sequentially?

Should I use QAComplete? Installed TestComplete on the remote machine?

Thank you in advance for yor help

Best regards

  • Hi again,

Here is the solution provided by the support team. Thank you for that.

    1. Create a project, let's name it "Master Project", in your project suite. It should contain nothing but the NetworkSuite project item with a host list and jobs with tasks.

    2. In other projects included in this project suite, make sure that the NetworkSuite project item is added (it may be empty).

    3. Add the tests which should be run by each project on the Test Items page of each project.

    4. Enable the projects which should be run by the project suite on the "Test Items" page of the project suite. Important: "Master Project" must be disabled.

    5. In "Master Project", add the task which will run the whole project suite on the remote machine as it's described above. Specify the filename of the Project Suite (.pjs)

Look into this link to define it if any problem: http://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/55030/

    Good luck ;-)
