retrieving values from an XML file

Question

TestComplete version 9.20.2460.7The application that we are trying to test generates an xml file with results, good or bad. &nbsp;I know the names of the fields in the xml, but the results are variable so I can't compare them to known ones with an xml checkpoint. &nbsp;How can I retrieve these values in a keyword test?

There are Alternatives to XML Checkpoints here http://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/26984/but you might need to work with a script rather than keyword test.

Hi Marsha, &nbsp; You can check the Ignore attributes option of your stored XML file. In this case TestComplete will compare only the structure of XML files (without attributes and their values).
