Reintallation Question

I installed TestComplete with a floating user license on a workstation.  I didn’t install and use the License Manager Utility to manage that license.  Do I have to deactivate the license before uninstalling TestComplete on that computer if I plan on reinstalling TestComplete on that same workstation and keeping the license on that computer?

This might be related to my question.  I read the snippet below from http://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/8818.

“Automatic deactivation is made when uninstalling TestComplete. If the uninstallation wizard finds an active license on your computer, it displays a dialog asking for your permission to remove the license. If you confirm this action, the wizard will deactivate the license.”

If I just tell the wizard not to remove the license, can I avoid deactivating/reactivating the floating license?

  • Hi Scott,

If you answer No in this dialog, the license won't be deactivated.
