Right-click menu - Open with Adobe Reader

I'm attempting to open a PDF from the desktop using the right-click menu option. It runs successfully on the machine recorded, but fails on a different test machine. Any ideas why?     var folderV...

    There error is basically the same as before... something is incorrect in the mapping of some of the components.  Why it's using progman versus wndWorker I'm not sure.  However, I don't think re-recording is the answer.  If you have a test that works on one machine and doesn't on another, then there are differences between the two environments that must be accounted for somewhere in your test using conditional logic (if/then/else).  Likewise, your name mapping may need to account for those differences in environments.

Can you show us the screen shot or error message in the other Machine which is getting failed.

The test object was not found when executing the ClickItemR command:

Aliases.explorer.wndWorkerW.SHELLDLL_DefView.FolderView

 

The attached image named 'capture' shows the warning received and the image named 'screenshot' shows the pdf document residing on the desktop.

    The warning indicates that the properties uses for mapping the linked object are insufficient for identifying it uniquely.  You have it mapped using index 3, it found one with index 2.  Looking in my own environment, I see something like 11 or 12 wndWorkerW objects under explorer.  And only one of them has the Shell child object.  That one has the Visible property set to "true".

    So... you need to edit your NameMapping properties for wndWorkerW to get rid of the index and add the "Visible" property set to true.

      abrooks4,  If you trying running into different machines there may be a possibility of index change since each folder will have their own index based on the number of files available in the folder.

       

      As tristaanogre mentioned please make sure your name mapping can handle different types of machines.

        I re-recorded the script this morning and noticed it is using 'wndProgman' instead of 'wndWorkerW'

         

        I'm now getting the following error:

        The test object was not found when executing the ClickItemR command:
