RDP access to TestComplete 8.6

Hello,

Our team consists of 3-4 persons who should use TestComplete (1 license) or TestExecute (1 license).

So there occured the idea to use RDP access to TestComplete, that is installed on the server in our network.

Before to install new TC version I'd like to know:

1. Will TC work properly via RDP connect?

2. Where should be installed the AQALicenseManager?

3. Can TestExecute be installed on the same server? And does it make any sense?

Thank you for any comment or recommendation!

  • Hi Marina,

You can work with TestComplete using Remote Desktop. For additional information, please see the Running Tests via Remote Desktop - Overview help topic. As for the licensing aspect of the question, please see the Using TestComplete With Remote Desktop Services help topic.

    2. Where should be installed the AQALicenseManager?

If you are going to use Floating User licenses, please find the answer in the Selecting License Manager PC help topic. As for Node-Locked licenses, they are activated and bound to PC where TestComplete will be launched.

    3. Can TestExecute be installed on the same server? And does it make any sense?

Both TestComplete and TestExecute can be installed to one system. For example, in your case, installing TestExecute and TestComplete on your server can be needed if one person needs to develop tests using the only license of TestComplete, while another person needs to be able to run tests (this person will use TestExecute).
