Object IDs - must Test Complete use them?

Question

I am in a situation where objects in the presentation layer have IDs that are dynamically generated, making automation based on object IDs not feasible.

Can scripts be created in Test Complete that do not use them?

Yes. &nbsp;Using NameMapping, you can create your own identification of objects using other criteria of the object (properties like captions, child objects, object class, etc) to determine the uniqueness of the object. &nbsp;It will take a little up front time investment, but it is worth it.
