Not possible to do something else at the same time

When I run TestComplete, it is not possible to do another activities in parallel, because the mouse is moved by testcomplete in order to click.

Is it possible to deactivate in order to do another activities in parallel when TestComplete is launched?

  • If your tests actively use the mouse ..... then no.

You can run it inside a VM or something, or use TestExecute (on a separate machine/VM - same limitations apply re mouse use).

But it's the nature of beast. If it's using the mouse, you can't.

Of course, if your test doesn't use the mouse, you usually can. And I often do. :)
  • It is not possible to have licence fort TestComplete in VM?!
  • I've only ever run TestExecute inside a VM. With the license manager held elsewhere.

But I think you will be able to run TestComplete (node locked) in a VM as long as it has external network access so it can dial home. But you will be tying it to that VM so you need to be careful about it.

Using TestComplete to do your development then handing it off to TestExecute (which you'll have got free with your node locked TestComplete) to do runs inside the VM while you continue to use your physical PC seems like the better option. (You'll need to host the license manager somewhere with this approach)
