mobile cloud testing

Hi all,

Has anyone had any experience with mobile cloud testing and TestComplete?

Is this even possible in some fashion?

I saw that Falafel have their Xamarin plugin for TestComplete and Xamarin have their "test-cloud":

http://xamarin.com/test-cloud

Perhaps the two could be combined in some way though it says the tests must be written in C# or Ruby...

Or maybe most perform local tests using TestComplete mobile and the cloud tests use a totally different method?

Thanks for any replies

    Hi Alex

Those articles related to EC2 and services like that where you can provision Windows, Linux, etc PCs "in the cloud".

I meant for mobile testing in the cloud i.e. hundreds of mobile devices are "in the cloud" and we can run our automated tests against them.

I was just wondering how anyone does that type of automated testing currently with TestComplete or other system entirely.
  • Hi Mark,

Thanks for bringing up this question. I'm also interested whether anyone was able to make mobile clouds work with TestComplete. Not necessarily Xamarin's.

    Can you share your results?

BTW, I've created a suggestion to add the official support for mobile cloud testing to TestComplete.

    Hi Tanya

I am at the early stages of researching automated test solutions in general and was wondering if TestCompleters have a mobile cloud solution they use (perhaps somehow in conjuction with TC itself).

Supporting mobile cloud tests in some fashion "out of the box" is a huge consideration. I've been told that it is "being discussed" but that's all.

Thank you for adding the suggestion! I think it is a must-have these days whether SmartBear creates their own cloud or supports 3rd party clouds, or both.

But if anyone has solutions they're currently using please post them here :)
