Make data loop- excel file

When we create a data loop by using an excel file as input data then the .xls file created cannot be edited/deleted/renamed after running the script. How do we add more rows/records in it later if a user wants to?

    you should be able to open the file in Excel and edit it.



    However, if the test is running, the file is in use and you can't add or alter it until the test is complete.

    Actally after finishing execution of the test, I tried to edit it, but it was not allowing me. Then I closed and reopened the Test Complete as well as the Project Suite and now I am able to edit it. :)

    Interesting.  Something in the file must have still been in use by TestComplete.
