License Manager install v10

Do i need to uninstall the previous version of my License Manager (v09.xx) before installing the new License Maanger v10?  I ask because are IT group will doing the installation, i need to instruct them correctly. Thank you

    Your steps are correct - to install a new License Manager version, you need to uninstall an already installed version on the computer.

    Hi Alexei,


     


    Good question!


    During the uninstallation, you will be asked if you want to deactivate the license activated on the current License Manager PC. The answer should be NO.


    After installing the new License Manager version, it will obtain the activated licenses and continue working with them.

    Hi Tanya,



    Will uninstall of the License Manager deactivate all licenses that it manages or will the licenses be picked-up with the License Manager installed later or it is better/more safe to deactivate the licenses beforehand on the user portal?

    If you install TestComplete 10 on a fresh machine, you get SmartBear License Manager 15.0.1. I would like to install that version of the license manager on my local machine (licenses are not activated here, they are on another machine) where I have been running TC 9 and TC 10 using version 12.49.1 of the license manager.

    I have tried uninstall the license manager, TC 9 and TC 10 (in that order) on my machine but the old license manager is still running. I have tried running the separate license manager installer I can download from my SmartBear account. No change. I tried reinstalling TC 10. No change.

    How do I get rid of 12.49.1 and replace it with 15.0.1?

    Hi Magnus,


     


    You'll need to uninstall v.12 and install the newest version.


    When uninstalling the License Manager utility, you'll be asked whether you want to deactivate the licenses from the computer. Answer No.


    License Manager 15 will obtain these licenses after you install it.

    The problem is that version 12 is still there after I have uninstalled it. I tried again today. Same result.

    Just to be clear, the version is 2.30.233.0 according to Program and Features. Suppose that is SmartBear's version number and what I see in GUI is the SafeNet/Aladdin version number?

    Do I need to do something else than uninstall it from Programs and Features?

    The problem is that version 12 is still there after I have uninstalled it.


     


    Where exactly do you see the utility still installed?


     


    Have you tried installing the License Manager utility shipped along with TestComplete 10 after uninstalling the previous one? Give it a try.

    As I wrote before, I have tried uninstalling the license manager, TC 9 and TC 10 (in that order) and also running the separate license manager installer I can download from my SmartBear account (I believe that is the one you are referring to).



    I can see "Sentinel LDK License Manager" service is installed/started and I can access http://localhost:1947.

    It looks like you've mixed up the License Manager utility that allows activating licenses and the Sentinel LDK License Manager service that keeps licenses on the computer.


    Do you face any issues when installing the License Manager utility shipped along with TestComplete 10?
