Keys method sometimes adds period(.) in the middle of text

When using keys method to set the text in a field, sometimes Test complete adds unwanted period(.) in the middle of the required text (see screenshot). I have some test machines situated in Munich, I see this is predominantly on these machines. Any idea how to handle it?

What is the actual text that is being entered, using the Keys method? What version of TC are you using? What is your keyboard language settings?

      expected text- Software_development_odc_Pin1

      actual text- Software_development_.odc_Pin1

TC and TestExecute are updated to latest version, however I think it does not as I have seen this issue on older version as well.

Keyboard settings are set to English US and QWERTY

  • From your message "machines situated in Munich, I see this is predominantly on these machines" I understand that your organization operation is global running multiple Windows system as well as keyboard languages.
If I am correct, it could be a combination of OS and Keyboard, and perhaps you can switch the OS to English US with single keyboard to try it out.
Another thing to look into is the provided text format ASCII Unicode differences.
