Hello Jeff,
You can try to open the log of the failed test in the following way:
1. Create a dummy procedure and run it to generate an empty log.
2. Open the newly created Log folder. It will contain a file named like this: '{22EE1702-65F4-4E21-8C1B-4BA86B6AE307}'. Find the log file with the name of the same format in the log of the failed test. Rename it to the name of the newly created log file ( '{22EE1702-65F4-4E21-8C1B-4BA86B6AE307}' in my sample) and replace the new log file with it.
3. Copy remaining log files of the failed test to the new log folder.
4. Reopen the project in TestComplete.
I also recommend that you specify the "Save log every <...> minutes" project option (Tools | Default Project Properties | Playback) to make TestComplete save log results automatically as often as you need.
