Is it possible to capture the URL from the brower ?

How can I capture the current URL from a chrome browser?

The SPY tool does not allow this.

Here is one example http://test.com/testurl/settings/a2b3521f-967c-4c66-8826-677fbd7b8f8f

I need to add the ID "a2b3521f-964c66-8826-677fbd7b8f8f" into a variable.

The URL is the only place where I can see the ID.
