I couldn't connect to the database using database checkpoint

I couldn't connect to the database using database checkpoint.The following error message is displayed:Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider.Unspecified error
 
 Has anyone else encountered the same or similar issue?

    I might be permission issue. I had same kind of problem. once I got proper permission it was resolve.
