I am having issues with TestComplete and TestExecute running on Chrome

When running the script in Chrome, the browser and TestComplete/TestExecute (TC/TE) stops responding .  TC/TE script cannot be paused or stopped.  The browser can only be stopped by force closing it using the close button in the header.  Once the browser is forced closed, TC/TE log notes that time has passed between the last action and the closing of the browser, but no indication that any error occurred to explain the freezing of the script run.

 

Whatever the issue, it does not stop me from starting another test or the same one over again.  

There is no common stopping poing.  It appears to be totally arbitrary.

If a test is more than 5 minutes long there is a higher probability of the issue occuring.

 

Version of TC: 10.30.1303.7
Version of Chrome: Version 40.0.2214.111 m

    Hi,

     

    Why not to update TestComplete to the latest 10.50 version which seems to work fine with Chrome 40?

      Actually, 10.50 didn't work with Chrome 40 either.  Last friday I downloaded version 10.60.3387.7 and I am still having the same issues that I had with 10.40.  Chrome freezes and TestComplete holds until Chrome is forced closed.  I do not have these issues in with IE running on the same website.  It appears that there are still issues with Chrome 40.

        Having the same issue here. I opened a support case to see if the engineers can figure it out. Updated to TC 10.60.3387 and D&R'd Chrome to the latest version 42.0.2311.90 m. Some specific behavior that I am seeing is; I'll record a keyword test that will launch the browser then navigate to a specific web page, then authenticate, after it will complete a nagivigation flow. Once that is complete it will navigate back to the home page, logout, then close the browser. TC appears to be recording all the actions and screen captures. Then when attempting to run the test it hangs at attempting to navigate to the web page specified with the error "Unable to Navigate to the http.... page". 

         

        Another attempt to record a keyword test and conduct an object property check point. TC Recorder will crash chrome. Then I'll force quite chrome, then TC will attempt to continue to record and prompt to drop the spy. 

         

        I'll post updates once I get more info.
