how to run exe(installation) file?

Show me what you have by pasting your code into your next post..  Technically speaking, the WScript.Shell object should work no matter what language, it's just a matter of getting the syntax correct.

If all you did is copy that function in to your c#script project as is, it won't work.  It's written in VBScript syntax and, therefore, is not formatted for C# Script.



It would be easier to help debug if I saw the C# script code, assuming that you actually did format it into C# Script syntax.  When you get back to work tomorrow, could you post that up?

You can use the script below to run an executable file:

Another way is to add your tested application to the list of Tested Applications and run it as it's described in the Running Tested Applications article.

What code have you tried to date?  Other messages you've posted here and on http://sqaforums.com you've shown that you're using the WScript.Shell to execute this.  What's going wrong?  Are there any error messages?

yes there are error message.the same code that works for vbs doesn't work for c#script.is it suppose to work for both?

is there a better way to launch/run an installation file using c#Script or the code i'm using the right code?if you know another way to do it please write me an example i'm stuck with it.

i'm actually not at work right now but as i remember i ran this function on vbs and as i said the file launched and the installation started and then i created new project with c#Script as default language and pasted it and the function didn't worked propely.

can you tell me if i wrote it correct?and if not can you please assume that you have an installation file (*.exe) on your c:\ drive and write a propr function that will run the exe file and start the installation?
