Hello ,I want to retrieve tooltip of buttons in my MFC application. We are using "tooltip_class32". Using "Name Mapping" we are able to identify the object of tooltips. But using "wText",we are not able to retrieve the tooltip text. Any help in this regard would be appreciated.Thanks,Deepa

Hi Deepa,

Did you add the control's class name to the Win32 Controls and Windows | Tooltip group of your project’s Object Mapping options? See the "Object Mapping" help topic for details.

Just checked for highlighting tooptip using "Point and Fix" method.

Please see attached screenshot.

Please correct me If I am wrong.

hello ,

Using "Display Object Properties Window" , I am able to see different properties of that object. [ eg. WndCaption,WndClass,FullName...etc ] , but "wText" property is not visible in that.

Hi ,

In the Apply button(PFA image), the tooltip "Add Selected Dye" is present. Now using TestComplete 6 we are able to NameMap the properties of the Apply button, but I need to namemap the properties of the toolTip and retriev the text "Add Selected Dye" from it.

Please let me know how can namemap the tooltip's properties and get the text from it.

Hi Deepa,

You can catch your tooltip by using the Point and fix option of the Object Spy window. After that, it will be possible to map it.

HI Deepa, Pleae use "Title" Property for get/Capture tool tips, it will be work for you. "Title" will help you. I Think Tanya, It's not posible to catch Tool Tips using Object Spy (Point and Fix)

I managed to map a tooltip but the wText property doesn't show up. How do I find it?

Hi Marsha,

WndClass of your control is WindowsForms10.tooltips_class32.app.0.2004eee. Make sure that either this class name or "*tooltips_class32*" is added to the Win32 Controls and Windows | Tooltip group of your project’s Object Mapping options.
