How to apply if contains condition for two variables in Keyword test

In keyword test, i have defined two variables (say A &B) Test is passed if  variable  A ( value store in variable A is "203,pedning,22/3/45") contains variable B (value store in variable B is  203) ...

    I think I've solved your problem.

     

    It looks like your Value2 is not set to;

     

    Mode - Constant

    Type - Integer

    Value - 0

     

    Try it all again with your actual data and this setup for Value2 and it should work. Also make sure the Condition is set to "Greater Than or Equal To"

Actually i am not working on Scripting/coding 

I am working on keyword test

 

in keyword test what should i use to get expected as mentioned in the query.

Ahh, sorry. Missed that part.

 

See attached image.

 

Basically you need to select 'Code Expression' for the Mode of Value1 and then essentially put in the same bit of code.

 

aqString.Find(A,B,0)

 

then in the value2 field you want it to equal 0.

    Hi,

     

    In this scenario Variable A  is not exactly equal to Variable B 

     

    Values store in Varible A contains varible B   (means B is subset of A)

     

    E.g Varible A = (203, pending, 23/45/6)

      Varible B = 203 

     

    I just want to place check if Variable A contain Varible B then test case is passed

     

    'Contains'' condition is not available in  " If ..then"   (equal to, does not equal to, less than ect are avaibles)

     

    As you have suggested i used code expression for both variables but  which codition should i select in order to check it

      if you lookat the image and set it up like that then it will work. The code expression returns a result of either 0 if the variable B is found within variable A and returns -1 if the variable B is not found.

       

      So in this instance for the IF statement you need the code expresion in the "Value1" field equals in the "Condition" field and then the result of '0' in the "Value2" field.

       

      Does this make sense?

       

      If not i'll try to explain another way but look at the image provided and set up your IF statement the same and it will work.

        aqString.Find(Project.Variable.VarA,Project.Variable.VarB,0)

         

        Condition

        Equals

         

        Value2

        0

         

        The aqString.Find method checks whether the VarA contains VarB starting at position 0.

         

        If VarB is found then this code expression returns a value of 0.
        If VarB is not found then this code expression returns a value of -1.

         

        So now that the code expression has returned either 0 or -1 into "Value1" we can then set our IF statement.

         

        Effectively....

         

        IF 0 equals 0 then return true


        else return false

         

        Does this make it any clearer?
