Hi Paul,
It looks like you miss an important point from the help topic: an exception will be caught only when you call an object's native method. If you use a TestComplete's wrapper method (like obj.Click or obj.ClickButton), the exception will not be caught. In the code provided in your e-mail message, you call the ClickButton method which is a TestComplete's wrapper method. Try calling a native method of your .NET application. For example, the PerformClick method (it should be available for button objects, as far as I know).
