I ran into this problem a few times with Firefox as well. For me, TestComplete's object recognition functionality with Firefox is spotty compared to IE64. If you can get away with it, try using Internet Explorer.
If you can't, I did have luck with delays. Sometimes the problem was the TestComplete was moving too fast; adding a delay gives the computer some time to actually load the page. Without the delay, I had issues where TestComplete was trying to search for an object that the computer couldn't load yet.
