I didn't try compiling the applications with Delphi XE2, but our developers say that there is no great difference between Delphi XE and Delphi XE2. So, the approach described in the help topic you mentioned should work.
I have only one assumption: the default values of some compilation options may have changed. So, I recommend that you make sure that ALL of the option values are the same as those that are displayed in the pictures in this topic.
If you are sure that the application was compiled with the correct settings, and TestComplete still fails to recognize it as Open, please contact our Support Team and send them the following information:
1. The TestComplete version you're working with.
2. Which application are you testing: 32-bit or 64-bit?
3. The screenshot of the Object Browser panel displaying the properties for this control.
4. The entire text of the error message that occurs during the test run.
