Can Test complete be used to automate an application running on a different machine

The application that needs to be tested lies on a hardware(windows), test complete would be installed in a PC. In that case is it possible to automate the application in the hardware which can be communicated through network

    TestComplete or TestExecute must be installed on the computer where you want to execute your test. Hence, the tested app should be launched on this computer as well. Could you please describe your task in detail?
