Button Does not Respond when Called from Script in IE but does in Chrome.

I have some automated scripts which go through an order process and at the final stage of the order, clicks a process button.   Until yesterday it worked fine in Chrome and IE, but now the process ...

Does an IE update occured ?

Or a setting changed (compatibility mode, ..) ?

Or the tested application changed ?

An IE update has not occurred since it was last working, compatibility mode is off, and the application I am testing has not changed since it was last working.
