Is there any way to set up TestComplete to put a black rectangle or square over a defined area in a test case, to hide personal information?

  • Are you asking to hide something on the screen where the testing is taking place? There's not a way to do that. If personal information is being used to test, then it should either be information that a human tester is allowed to see or you should mask it or edit it some way in the database. For example, our test data started out as real data but the names and birthdates have been altered so that they no longer match any real person.

If it's just a matter of hiding it so passersby can't see it, then you can always turn the monitor off.
