Active X controls results in APPCRASH. Similar controls in VB did not crash.

The software we are testing with TestComplete is changing from VB6 controls to Active X controls. I've been noticing that when recording the step in a test where I close a window the window closes but I also get an APPCRASH message from windows. This same behavior occurs when I run the test back. Has anyone seen this before and know how to get TestComplete to "play nice" with Active X?

  • Hi Yehuda,

If it's about some command-line parameters passed from the master application, you can specify them via the "Run | Run Parameters" main menu item in AQtime. If this approach is not acceptable anyway, as an alternative, you can request a trial version of AQtime Pro (http://smartbear.com/products/development-tools/performance-profiling/sign-up/) and use the Attach to Process feature, which is not available in AQtime Standard. If you're interested in this approach, let me know - I'll give you steps for that.
