SoapUI error on start: Invalid argument: connect

Hello,

I'm new to SoapUI.  I hope I picked the right board...

I've downloaded and installed SoapUI 5.0.0 x64.  When I start SoapUI, in the SoapUI log is an error message which I suspect is the cause of all my testing failures so far.  Here is the log:

Anything I try from here on, eg. connecting to a SOAP webservice that has already been tested by others, fails with this same message.

I tried searching through the new and old communities but found nothing similar.

Any help would be gratefully accepted.
