SoapUI persistent splash screen stuck, preventing work

I searched and came across a couple similar threads for LoadUI but nothing specifically SoapUI. Also, the other fixes were really trying to fix.. To simply move forward, I found that I could go to File > Clear Workspace (see attached) to make the splash screen go away. Then, File > Recent, and find the project(s) just closed.
