ReadyAPI Installation Keeps Failing on Intel Evo i7 – Need Advice!

Hey ReadyAPI member,

I hope you’re doing well. I’m reaching out because I’m having trouble installing ReadyAPI Pro 3.43 on my Intel Evo i7 laptop. Every time I attempt to run the installer, it fails with an “Installation Interrupted” error, and I’m at a loss for what to do next. I've ensured that my system meets all the necessary requirements and have tried running the installer as an administrator.

Additionally, I’ve temporarily disabled my antivirus software to see if that would help, but unfortunately, the installation still doesn’t complete. I’ve checked online for solutions, but I haven’t found anything that addresses this specific issue.

Has anyone else faced a similar problem with ReadyAPI on an Intel Evo i7? If so, I would greatly appreciate any advice or troubleshooting steps you could share.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hi jonathanjone

Before installing ReadyAPI 3.43, ensure your system meets the minimum requirements:

    • 4 GB RAM (8 GB recommended)
    • - 5 GB free disk space
    • Java 8 or later

If installation issues arise, troubleshoot with the following steps:

To resolve installation issues, try the following:

First, ensure you're running the installer as an administrator by right-clicking and selecting "Run as administrator." Then, temporarily disable antivirus software and Windows Firewall.

For a clean installation, uninstall previous ReadyAPI versions, delete leftover folders, and clear temporary files using Disk Cleanup.

    Additionally, verify:

    • Your Windows system is up-to-date with the latest patches
    • You have a compatible Java version installed (try Java 8 if using a newer version)
    • Installation directory doesn't contain spaces or special characters
    • Compatibility mode is set for an earlier Windows version (right-click installer, go to Properties)

If the standard installation method fails, consider other installation methods.

For a silent installation, use the command line: "readyapi-x.x.x.exe -q -console -dir 'C:\Program Files\SmartBear\ReadyAPI-x.x.x'".

Otherwise, opt for manual installation by downloading the ZIP version of ReadyAPI, extracting it to your desired location, and running ReadyAPI.exe from the extracted folder.

To troubleshoot persistent issues, enable verbose logging during installation: "readyapi-x.x.x.exe -v -console > install_log.txt".

Review the generated log file for specific error messages to facilitate support and resolution.

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
    Warm regards
