loadUI 2.0 not compatible with Amazon EC2 instances?

I tried and tried until I almost pulled my hair out. No matter what you do, when adding a new Agent to loadUI 2.0, is just hangs on "connecting...". I SSH'ed into the EC2 machine, checked the Agent, restarted the Agent, all to no avail. Then, I noticed that the image version in the AMI list on EC2 said "1.5". What do you know? I uninstalled loadUI 2.0 and obtained 1.5, and everything works great.

Why does the home page, and all of the glorious videos, not make this clear? It was hours of torture only to find this out by myself. Why? Does 2.0 work with Amazon EC2 public AMI or what? This should be made VERY clear. I love this product, and being free is amazing. Just please explain that cloud testing does not work with 2.0 (or perhaps please tell me what I did wrong).
  • Hi,

Sorry, you need to run the same version of the loadUI agent as the version of loadUI you are running. The documentation has now been updated to be more clear on this.

We currently have not yet updated the EC2 instance available for 2.0, but it is possible to do yourself if you have some linux knowledge. Using the existing AMI as a base, you can SSH into it and download and install the latest loadUI agent, replacing the old version. We will have an updated AMI available in the future.
