4.6.0Pro/Linux - crash when Starter page is closed too early

if user closes "SoapUI Starter page" before it's content is laded, SoapUI will crash (in better case) or freeze (in worse case). This "works" at least on Linux version but I guess it is cross-platform
how to reproduce:

1- start SoapUI
2- close Starter page before it's loaded
---> crash or freeze happens everytime
  • Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems. I've tried to reproduce this, both on Linux and on Windows, but I've been unable to do so. Could I ask for some more details in order to try to find the root of this behavior?

      - Which distribution of Linux are you using?
      - Which distribution of SoapUI are you using?
      - Are you using the JRE bundled with SoapUI to run it?
      - What graphics card do you have?
      - Is there anything else specific to your setup that you think might be important?

One possible workaround in the mean time could be to disable the integrated browser altogether in Preferences -> UI Settings.

  • Hello,

I am using Debian 7 32bit, my VGA is Intel HD3000 and my desktop environment is Gnome Shell.
I am using "Linux installer" so it should use it's own JAVA, if I am not mistaken?

This is not somehow critical, it's just a problem that when I work over slow VPN, I have to wait 5 seconds before I can close this window but You have good workaround - disable integrated browser entirely

Have You managed to close window before it loaded its content so it's all white?
  • Hi,

Thanks for the extra info. I was able to reproduce this today on my 64bit Ubuntu machine and have reported it in our bug tracker (SOAP-710).
Until this is fixed, disabling the browser or grabbing a coffee while waiting is probably your best options
