moving tasks between project plans loses the releationship

Every time I have moved a task with subtasks (and sub-subtasks, etc) from one plan to another (I use the fast edit function), all the tasks show up in the new plan at the same level and I have to re indent them all.

Bug or OTIP?

  • Hi Robert,

I think it is a usability issue, therefore a bug.   I just tested it and wrote up a defect for it, hopefully it will be addressed in our next patch.  Here is the description of the defect, thanks for bring this to our attention:

Defect 789525 - Moving tasks between Projects Plans lose hiearchical structure

    Description:

One of our clients found this and posted it in our public forum.  When you use the Fast Edit feature to move a set of hiearchical tasks from one project plan to another, it loses the hiearchachy once it arrives in the new project, here is a movie: http://screencast.com/t/X9qInIPwxIW

I just got work from our development team that they have found the issue and fixed it.  It will be shipped with our next release (not sure of the date yet but definitely before the end of March 31, 2011.
